mccain first:  he is falling back to saying my friends…i can’t stand that thumb on his left hand which is permanantly prone and appears not to bend at the joint.

obama:  very eloquent and it is not a flaw that he can string together multiple, high level thoughts!!

mccain is a fraud and a coward, he talks shit on the campaign trail and puts his wife and fellow maverick out to do dirty work but won’t do it himself.  mccain is trying to sneak past obama ..oh, now he wants to be overly faux friendly.  cindy mccain was very very cold to michelle obama. what a low class bitch cindy is.

mccain must be smoking crack…he said we can ‘easily’ eliminate the national dependence on venezuela and middle east oil…

i cannot stand the way that mccain licks his upper lip…it appears to be a nervous habit.  it just dawned on me why it looks so creepy when he does this..he does it like a SNAKE…watch the way he licks his tongue out really fast, very strange.

mccain is very condecending.  i would buy his pseudo intellect if he had at least graduated toward the top of his class, rather than in the 3rd percentile!!

mccain is really losing it…he is inventing inarticulate segueys so that he can throw in cheap shots.  in addition, he won’t talk about what he will do, only criticize what obama proposes.

mccain is so blustery and all he does is say what he can do but never says how he can do it.  i can bring the american public in a new direction by eliminating spending..HOW, HOW, HOW….how the fuck will you do it johnny boy…no body cares about whether johnny boy stood up to his party…who gives a fuck, what have you done for me lately???

i love when obama uses the phrase, “the notion that…” it is a gentleman’s way of calling mccain a liar.

oh boy, mccain is going back to using the rejection of his invitation to do town hall meetings as an excuse to conduct a dirty campaign…how did mccain seguey into public financed campaigns from harsh negative campaigning…what a dweeb mccain is.

mccain just made a sarcastic, rude interuption during obama’s discussion.

question:  when did we get to the point that paying any taxes is a bad thing.  that is what our country needs.

mccain keeps interrupting…who gives a fuck about ireland!!  business tax rates have been continually cut over the years and it has not benefited anyone except the rich.

mccain is off topic, talking about the home loan corporation when the question is about what would be cut to reduce the soaring deficit…now he is rambling about energy independence…an across the obard spending freeze is not feasible.  sure, government spending is out of control but he and bush are the other GOP whores.

now mccain is back to “i know how to save money”  “i would fight, i would veto every pork barrel bill…now he is repeating the same line about the overhead project in the planetarium…

The beautiful thing is, white people are finally getting to see what black people have been talking about all these years. And you guys are feel as horrified, impotent-feeling, and wanting-to-explain-our-side-to-somebody as we always were.

Is this the end of the legacy of slavery as white brother and black brother finally see eye to eye?

Well stated! This is precisely the thought that I have had for a while, watching the “liberal” whites slowly awaken to the racism beast. Suddenly, most now see for themselves the rabid disdain and hate that many whites have for blacks. Now, imagine the enormous legions of racists who are managers, supervisors, business owners, teachers, police officers, etc., and in other positions of authority or decision making. Imagine the rage and fear that many black people have continued to carry, since slavery. You should no longer wonder how difficult it is to simply be black in America.

Obama is as well balanced, educated, socially conscious, etc., as any individual could be, yet, the world is witnessing the public “lynching” of this black man and likely the next POTUS, and the repeated public calls for his assassination by white wing extremists who hold public office! If similar threats of violence toward a white politician were made, you can bet the perpetrators would be charged as enemy combatants and denied constitutional rights.

Don’t be cynical the next time you hear someone charge racism in the workplace or abuse by police. This racist America has not been some figment of our black imaginations. Much of America, though not all, is dangerously racist! If you are surprised by number of openly racist Americans, don’t forget to multiply that by at least two, to account

O:  we are in the worst financial crisis since great depression.  you are worried about your pensions, college, etc.  this is the final verdict on the economic policy of president bush…overall, a good, broad answer that touches on many aspects of current situation and concerns about the bail out program.  great reference to AIG testimony this morning, very much in the here and now!

mccain:  proposing what he would do as president in terms of directing the treasury to buy up mortgages…why the fuck didn’t he say that when he was pretending to be superman and jumping into the middle of washington.

senator mccain just caught off guard and made a horrible, ill timed joke by saying…not you, Tom, in response to who McCain would appoint as treasury secretary…what an ass, he just said meg whitman, who just announced thousands of layoffs today from ebay…mccain referenced that she knows how to create jobs. what the fuck, we are crumbling and facing a global recession and mccain thinks that saying meg whitman and ebay enough times will make us think that he is technically astute.

clearly the mccain camp whining about gwen ifill has put her in a very cautious mode.  she is not asking questions that require deep, specific understanding or knowledge in any subject area.  in addition, she is allowing palin to simply not answer a single question.  i believe that the moderator has the right and duty to keep the candidates on point and not allow them to stray or deliberately obfuscate the truth.

this is a travesty of democracy.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was working aggressively behind the scenes to defeat the Wall Street rescue plan minutes before he himself released a public statement in support of the package, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reported on Tuesday.

Gingrich was whipping up votes for the opposition, Mitchell said, apparently without the knowledge of the current GOP leader, John Boehner, who was responsible for recruiting enough support from his caucus to help ensure the bill’s passage. Ultimately, the GOP was only able to rally roughly a third of its members.

“Newt Gingrich,” she said on MSNBC, “I am told reliably by leading Republicans who are close to him, he was whipping against this up until the last minute, when he issued that face-saving statement. Newt Gingrich was telling people in the strongest possible language that this was a terrible deal, not only that it was a terrible deal, it was a disaster, it was the end of democracy as we know, it was socialism — and then at the last minute [he] comes out with a statement when the vote is already in place.”

Indeed, as Mitchell noted, shortly before the bill’s failure, Gingrich “reluctantly” came out in favor of its passage: “Therefore, while I am discouraged at the final collapse of the Bush Administration, and frustrated by the Democrats’ passion for the taxpayer’s money, I would reluctantly and sadly vote for the bailout were I still in office.”

The rest of the set of Morning Joe had some interesting takes on the news nugget. Joe Scarborough called Gingrich’s backstabbing of John Boehner “undercutting his own.”

Mike Barnicle offered his own bit of reportorial insight: “Andrea, I could hug you for saying that, because I was told last night by two or they members of Congress that this was the opening salvo of Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign four years hence.”

And Mika Brzezinski summed it up succinctly: “Talk about a crap sandwich,” a reference to how Boehner described the bailout bill.

AP Reports on the damage the failed bailout bill has done to John McCain’s campaign:

Republican John McCain has maneuvered himself into a political dead end and has five weeks to find his way out.

Last Wednesday, McCain suspended his presidential campaign to insert himself into a $700 billion effort to rescue America’s crumbling financial structure. In so doing, he tied himself far more tightly to the bill than did his Democratic opponent, Barack Obama.

Barack Obama’s campaign released a statement on next steps for the bailout package (below is an excerpt):

“Yesterday, within the course of a few hours, the failure to pass the economic rescue plan in Washington led to the single largest decline of the stock market in two decades.

“While I, like others, am outraged that the reign of irresponsibility on Wall Street and in Washington has created the current crisis, I also know that continued inaction in the face of the gathering storm in our financial markets would be catastrophic for our economy and our families…

“One step we could take to potentially broaden support for the legislation and shore up our economy would be to expand federal deposit insurance for families and small businesses across America who have invested their money in our banks.

“The majority of American families should rest assured that the deposits they have in our banks are safe. Thanks to measures put in place during the Great Depression, deposits of up to $100,000 are guaranteed by the federal government.”

Mark my words, as soon as the foreclosure crisis adversely impacts the white, professional class (it is currently happening and will ramp up in Q1 2009) the language about irresponsibility, negligence and fraud will be softened.  At that point in time, the conversation will shift from borrowers motivated by greed, criminal wrongdoing and trying to get something for nothing to compassion, rescue and the sense of urgency to rescue “american familiespursuing the American Dream” from such a tragic circumstance, beyond their control.  When this happens, the narrative will switch to American Families being swindled.  Mark my words.  I am appalled at the way in which this bailout of wall street has been characterized as something that was caused by brown/black people who somehow outwitted the ivy league educated wall street robber barrons who are now waiting to be paid twice for their greed and ill gotten gains.  This country deserves everything that it gets.
