Goodbye, Tim Russert.
Tim Russert’s sudden passing today makes my heart feel heavy and brings tears to my eyes. The magnitude of the loss to political analysis, journalism and surely to his family, colleagues and friends is certainly beyond the words that many have spoken today. I did not know Tim and am only one of his many millions of “viewers;” yet it was his very ability to talk directly to me and all Americans in an honest, compassionate, informed, and objective way made him the absolute best of the best and one of the last true journalists.
I will always remember Tim Russert as someone who stoked my passion for politics. I will miss Tim Russert and the intellect, sanity and balanced perspective that he layered over the insanity of politics. Peace.
